UP Kisan E Uparjan Online Registration for Gehu Kharid

Kisan E-Uparjan

The onset of the Pandemic has affected businesses all over the nation, especially farmers who not only depend on logistics but a fair price for their goods to make ends meet for themselves financially. With the pandemic coming in with a bunch of restrictions regarding movement, farmers have been unable to locate buyers and sell their goods. As farmers barely make it through their days, it is difficult for them to procure storage facilities to keep their produce in safe conditions. Consequently, they face losses that shatter their financial structures.

The Uttar Pradesh government has, in the light of the situations arising, started with a new plan – Uttar Pradesh Kisan E-Uparjan Gehu Kharid – a scheme where farmers can now sell their crops to the State government directly and find a fair price for it, in accordance to the Minimum Support Price (MSP).

How will the scheme be implemented?

The farmers usually take their produce to mandis for buyers to assess the quality of goods and then, if liked by traders, manage to make a sale. This procedure, in the light of recent unfurlings, does not seem feasible anymore as the risk of the virus spreading increases manifold when larger gatherings of people occur.

Through the Uttar Pradesh E-Uparjan Gehu Kharid scheme, farmers can now put their property for sale online by registering to the e-procurement portal and sell their prime rabi crop – wheat – to the government agencies for Minimum Support Price also known as MSP.

Before taking their goods to the mandis, all farmers will have to get a token by registering online on the UP E-procurement portal s that when it is their turn, they can visit the mandi, thereby avoiding overcrowding and also abiding by social distancing protocols.
